Speaking at a conference dedicated to World Tourism Day (WTD) celebrations held on Saturday, he stressed that continuing works such as the enhancement of infrastructure services for tourism are required in order to consolidate the country’s potential in this key economic activity.
“Tourism industry stands out as a major employment generator of labor force in Peru and guarantee annual revenue to both the town and the government,” Jochamowitz said, adding, “This benefits an enormous amount of families”.
In that sense, he is confidence in the Ollanta Humala’s administration ongoing efforts through the Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur) to setting out policies aimed at increasing international arrivals to the Andean nation as well as bolstering inbound tourism.
Likewise, the top Canatur official pointed out that thanks to the current marketing campaigns are driving visitor numbers, in particular on the hot spots of the country’s northern regions, where domestic and foreign travelers enjoy beach resorts and delicious cuisine. “Tourism hubs along the northern Amazonian regions are also being benefited from the campaigns being carried out by Mincetur,” Jochamowitz noted.
