Peru’s Culture Ministry approved the 2015 Manual for night schedule tours of the Chavin de Huantar archaeological site, located in the province of Huari, in Ancash region.
One of the recitals of the Vice-Ministerial Resolution No. 039-2015-MVPCIC-MC states that night visits have taken place since the night lighting project ended in 2009.
In 2011, a set of regulations was put in place to set the calendar of events, schedule, cost, number of visitors, security measures and activities to be held throughout the night.
The report No. 216-2015-OGAJ-SG/MC, issued on March 27, recommends that night visits to Chavin de Huantar site should be approved by a Manual that regulates the points mentioned above.
The resolution, published today in the official gazette El Peruano, was inked by Luis Jaime Castillo Butters, Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage and Cultural Industries of the Republic of Peru.
